How Beautifying Your Home with Manufactured Stone Can Give it a High-End Look

Just because you are on a budget doesn’t mean your home has to look dull and drab. While real stone is a costly material you can easily create a high-end look without spending a lot of money simply by using manufactured stone veneer in some strategic areas. Here are a few ways stone can fundamentally transform your home both inside and out.
There’s something about a stone exterior that makes a home appear luxurious. Stone can add texture to an otherwise flat home, and will also help draw the eye toward architectural features such as arched doorways, a fireplace, or screened porch. It isn’t necessary to completely cover your exterior in stone, as combining stone with brick, cedar, vinyl or fiber cement siding will provide an elegant look as well.
You may not think of stone as being a design material for the bedroom, but it can actually dress up this space quite a bit. Stone will actually make your bedroom appear cozier, especially if your home already contains wood flooring or an open-beamed ceiling. Creating a single accent wall is preferred in order to keep your bedroom light and airy. Painting your remaining walls a light beige color can also bring out the warmth of the stone and soften the look a bit.
Working in your home office will be a lot more fun if the atmosphere is interesting to begin with. If your office is lacking natural light, choose white limestone to help brighten up the room. Otherwise, you could use granite, travertine, or slate to illuminate the space with a bit of color. Even a short wall just below a window or built-in bookshelf with stone veneer will draw attention to those features, helping to take your mind off the clutter that may be lurking on your desk.
Dressing up your laundry room is one of the best ways to make your home feel more luxurious. Place a butcher block countertop and some painted wooden cabinets along a stone wall to create a folding center. Since the laundry room normally has fewer details, you may even want to add stone veneer in the entire space rather than creating just one accent wall. If you have a very small laundry room, stick with light-colored stone as much as possible, and add a mirror on one wall to help visually enlarge your space. Consider natural tile that resembles wood planks to help complete the look.
These are just a few ways in which you can use manufactured stone to give your home a more elegant appearance. Manufactured stone veneer can actually be used in other areas such as your living room, basement, or kitchen to provide the same effect. Stone is one material that never goes out of style, making it a worthwhile investment you will cherish for years to come.
